Estonia's air among world's cleanest
Swiss air pollution monitoring organization IQAir has released its 2024 Global Air Quality Report, which highlights worrying trends in the world's most polluted countries and cities. The research shows that only seven countries are able to meet the World Health Organization's (WHO) air pollution limit of 5 µg/m³ per year. Estonia is one of them.
Estonia's air quality levels were significantly better than many other countries in 2024. According to IQAir, Estonia's annual average PM2.5 level did not exceed the WHO limit of 5 µg/m³. Estonia is one of seven countries where air quality meets the WHO's strict requirements, on par with Australia, the Bahamas, Barbados, Grenada, Iceland and New Zealand.
