Estonian World Council (ÜEKN) meets to approve new action plan
On March 27-28, the World Estonian Central Council (ÜEKN) met virtually to discuss and approve its new action plan. Representatives of central organizations from twelve countries were greeted by Estonian Foreign Minister Eva-Maria Liimets via video.
Minister Liimets sees the World Estonian Central as a partner with whom, looking to the future, global Estonianness can be systematically developed and planned. "I believe that in the partnership we will be able to implement even the most ambitious plans," Minister confirmed to the Central Council.
The action plan of the Estonian Central Council is indeed ambitious. It is planned to carry out a number of studies, expand the membership, promote the exchange of information and develop cooperation networks. The preservation and popularization of historical memory continues. Thematic working groups help the board to carry out its activities.
“ÜEKN is a good cooperation platform for all Estonian central organizations abroad. We can get inspiration and enthusiasm from each other for further activities and together we can make the voice of Estonians heard better abroad, ”says Aho Rebas from Sweden, Chairman of ÜEKN.
