Estival celebrates its 40th anniversary

Estonian cultural days Estival 2023 will be held in Gothenburg on May 12 - 21.

The tradition of Estivals began in Gothenburg in 1983.

In 1980, the very successful ESTO (world Estonian festival) took place in Stockholm, and in the spirit of this, the idea arose to organize cultural days in Sweden in the interim period of the global ESTO event, which is held every four yesrs. The Estonians in Gothenburg liked the idea, and three years later blue, black, and white flags flew in Gothenburg.

Estival was born out of the need to preserve Estonian identity and culture. Each Estival has reflected the significance of its time.

The tradition has continued.

Guests from all over Europe are expected. The whole family can find activities. You too support the great event of Estonians in Sweden!
