Frequently Asked Questions
The Global Estonian portal is part information gateway, part community tool, and part virtual Estonian House. It’s a place we can connect and support one another, no matter where we are.
GlobalEstonian.com platforms content for Estonian diaspora, globally minded Estonians at home, and our friends and family. You’ll find a wide range of topics, such as personal stories, community news, updates from Estonia, and more. In the media corner, find content formats like video, podcast, and photo galleries, and discover Estonian film and TV, diaspora media, and surveys.
You’ll also find the monthly newsletter, in which we present a collection of content, from the portal and elsewhere, to keep readers connected and up-to-date.
The Global Estonian portal is managed by the Integration Foundation. The founder of the foundation is the Republic of Estonia, with the Ministry of Culture exercising founder’s rights. The monthly newsletter is curated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Submit an event via email
Let us know in the email how we can assist you.
Before submitting your event, please make sure you have completed the following steps:
- Event Title
- Event website
- High-quality image under 2 MB
- Start date and time
The event can be submitted either in Estonian or English, or both languages.
Please note: submitting an event does not guarantee its publication.
There are a few possible reasons why your event was not published.
Global Estonian focuses on events that are relevant to Estonians living abroad. We generally don’t publish events that take place in Estonia, unless they are of special significance — for example, the Song and Dance Celebration (Laulu- ja tantsupidu).
Your event may also not have been published if:
- It didn’t include enough information (e.g. date, website, or description), or the details were unclear.
- It was a duplicate or very similar to an existing post.
- It didn’t align with our editorial focus on the global Estonian community.
Please note that the fastest and most reliable way to publish your event is by submitting it directly through the portal. This ensures all required fields are completed and allows our team to review it efficiently.
If you’re unsure why your event wasn’t published or would like feedback, please contact us at info@globalestonian.com — we’ll be happy to clarify and help you share your event in the best possible way.
