Arvo Pärt once again the most performed living composer in the world
Bachtrack, the world’s leading database for live classical performance, has released its annual analysis of the industry based on over 31,000 global events from 2025. The standout highlight for Estonia is the continued global resonance of our own Arvo Pärt.
For another year, Pärt has been named the most performed living composer in the world. Over the past decade, he has been a consistent presence in these rankings, and in 2025, his 90th birthday was widely celebrated by orchestras and ensembles internationally.
“During my father’s 90th year,” commented the composer’s son Michael Pärt, “what has stood out most for us is not only the scale of performances around the world, but the attentiveness with which audiences receive the music. Its continued presence points to a growing yearning for music with an inner, spiritual depth – music that can speak across cultures and act as a unifying force in an increasingly divided world.”
