EV 108 - PES 75: Portland - aktus

Portlandi eestlased tähistavad Eesti Vabariigi 108. Iseseisvuspäeva ning Portlandi Eesti Seltsi (PES) 75. aastapäeva laupäeval 21. veebruaril 2026 kell 2:00 p.l.

Ürituse kavas astuvad üles Rahvatantsuansambel Tulehoidjad, lasterühm, Kandleansambel ja lauljad. Ettekandega PES ajaloost esineb Helve Kalmann ning meil on külas Toronto KESKUSe juht Ellen Valter,  Eesti diasporaa uurija Maarja Merivoo-Parro ning Eesti aukonsul Oregonis Skip Newberry. Palume kaasa tuua toitu ühisele einelauale jagamiseks.
Ürituse sissepääsu eest on oodatud annetused. Portlandi Eesti Seltsi liikmemaksu saab tasuda kohapeal.

Aktusele järgneb õhtusöök ja dokumentaalfilmide vaatamine, algusega umbes kell 5:00pm

Celebration of 108th Estonian Independence Day and Portland Estonian Society 75th Anniversary

Join us to commemorate the 108th anniversary of Estonia’s Independence and 75. anniversary of the Portland Estonian Society! The program features a variety of performances, including the Tulehoidjad Folk Dancers, children’s group, Kannel Ensemble, and local singers.
Helve Kalmann will present on early history of PES. We are honored to welcome Honorary Consul of Estonia in Oregon, Skip Newberry, Toronto KESKUS CEO Ellen Valter, Estonian diaspora researcher Maarja Merivoo-Parro along with our Baltic friends.

Please bring a dish to share for the potluck! Donations for admission are appreciated, and you can also pay your Portland Estonian Society membership dues at the event. The formal celebration is followed by dinner and movie presentation of films about the escape from Estonia during WWII and reaching the displaced persons camps in Germany. The movie presentations will start approximately 5:00pm, subtitles for films are available.
